Information

Several months ago I was at a sale and bought an old bible.  I flipped through the pages when I returned home...noticing several names, and then put the bible in my closet.  I took the bible out today and started researching the family names and came upon your website.  I am hoping that you can advise me on what to do with this bible.  I would like to return it to the family or a historical society if possible.

Listed below are some of the details:

The bible was printed in Philadelphia, PA in 1830.
There are two pages on the inside which have documentation written in what I believe to be German.
There are two sheets of other paper slipped into the bible with the following notes...

"On January the 25, 1835 I Nathaniel Bousack copied from an old register the date of their birth.
My Grandfather John Hackamn was born the 16 of April 1741 in the morning between 6 and 7 o'clock
under the sign of the Oxen.
My Grandmother Magdalene Shellenberger was born the 26 of May in the morning.
John Hackman died the 13 of February 1804 in the morning 2 o'clock.
Magdalene Hackman whose maiden name was Magdalene Shellenber died the 22 of March in the
     morning half past nine.
My Father Jacob Bonsack was born the 27 of March 1760.
My Mother Marge (Maria) Bonsack who before her marriage was Marge (Maria) Hackman was born
the 23 of March under the sign of the crab.
My father Jacob Bonsack died the 19th of January 1795.
My mother Marge (Maria) Bonsack died the 19th of April 1893 in the morning 10 o'clock under the
     sign of the crab."

I have had fun researching the Bonsack family (Ancestry.com) as I have found many of your ancestors to have come quite close to mine (I am from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania).  I now live in Illinois and I am not sure how the bible got to this area.  If you could be of any assistance in finding an appropriate home for this heirloom, I would be grateful!

Questions

e-mail-address

I am a descendant of John Bohnsack b. 12 Apr 1822  in Klein Sien.  Do you have any information on the family of his wife Sophia Roemer (Reimer) ?
Jennie Johnson
DAVE-JENNIE@juno.com
There are graves in the Plymouth city cemetery for Johann and Sophia Bohnsack. The tombstones are very worn so I may not have the dates exact. Johann was born 27 October 1825 and died 5 September 1903. Sophia was born 24 June 1826 and died 22 February 1905. These dates jive with copies of records from my family search of a John (Johann) Bohnsack who came from Brodhagen, Mecklenburg, Germany and settled in Greenbush, Wisconsin. Who can give me more information about John?                Kay Bohnsack gbohnsac@excel.net

Frederick BOHNSACK is my great-great grandfather.
Frederick came to America (Gordonville town, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri state) as an unmarried man. He was born in Germany in 1826.
His wife Emelia/Amelia SHINKLE was born in Hannover, Germany, in 1835.
They were married on October 22, 1954, in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.
They had seven children all born in Missouri . . . Augusta, Cathrine, Magdalene, Charles Henry, Emma, Rhod Ann, and Frederick A. (my great-grandfather).
Perhaps you could help me discover who were the parents of the Frederick BOHNSACK who came to America from Germany and perhaps the same information about his wife Emelia/Amelia?
I would be most grateful for any information that you could give me.
Randy BOHNSACK
. Who can give more informations to Randy about the Bohnsacks? Maybe they came from Haieshausen/Leinetal.

Hallo, Ihre Seiten ist sehr umfangreich. Wir suchen noch die Verbindungen unserer Familie. Unsere Oma Rosa , geb.

Danke, Alexander Sachse, Berlin
