The master of paradise(Paradiesmeister) Bonsac

The Paradiesmeister Bonsac is the first architect, who imported into Germany the early Gothic style (Romanic-Gothic)during the erecting of the paradise in the monastery in Maulbronn (around 1210). Several years later (1220-1230) he was the architect (workmaster) for the making of the cathedral in Magdeburg. Now his title was  master Bonsac.

We find a sculpture of the master Bonsac on the architect column in the cathedral of Magdeburg (pictures in first row). In the monastery of Maulbronn he builded (among other ) the fountain house (Brunnenhaus), the entrance hall (Vorhalle), the meal hall (Speisesaal) and a part of the church. (pictures in the second row f.l.t.r.)
