Hello and welcome
to the homepage of the namesakes Bonsac ... Bohnsack, in the circle of the 2600 families with this name,
who meanwhile run around on the whole world.
This namesakes has its roots in the former dukedom Braunschweig - Lüneburg
and in the principality Mecklenburg.
The first proof from documents goes back into the 13th and 14th century.
In this time namesakes wandered as noblemen, locators and farmers into the area of the Wenden/Slawen
and settled in the county Schwerin and the diocese Ratzeburg.
The German immigrants brought new knowledge of the agriculture
as well as the feoffment into the land of the Wenden in Mecklenburg.
Heinrich II., called the Lion ,
took in some of the noble immigrants into his team.
On of them was Hinricus Bonsack.
He soon became a very good friend of Heinrich the Lion and his family.
